ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrival to Yerevan, meet & assist at airport. Transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day 2: YEREVAN CITY TOUR

  • Breakfast then Walking Tour of the Pink-Capital. Most of its buildings are garnished with a pink shade of “tuf” stone which is quarried in Armenia.
  • Head towards the GUM Market (dried fruits, nuts, sweets); Yerevan City Hall; Mashtots Avenue; Marshal Baghramian avenue,one of the main arteries of the city and named after World War II Soviet army marshal Hovhannes Baghramyan; Presidential Residence; National Assembly; Mother Armenia statue symbolizes peace through strength when prominent female figures such as Sose Mayrig and others took up arms to help men against Turkish troops.
  • Free Time for Lunch.
  • Visit the Cascade and Stroll along the North Avenue to Abovyan Street, then head to the Republic Square. Back to hotel.

Notes to See

  • Gaze through the centuries at the ruins of Erebuni Fortress erected in 782 BC, Erebuni Museum – built 29 years before the Eternal City of Rome.
  • Visit the impressive monument, the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial of the Genocide Victims of 1915.
  • Visit Matenadaran – one of the biggest depositors of ancient manuscripts.

Day 3: TSAKHKADZOR – SEVAN

  • Breakfast at hotel. Trip to Tsakhkadzor “Valley of Flowers”, located in one of the most beautiful areas of the country and surrounded by forests on the eastern slope of Mt. Tsaghkuniats. It is considered to be one of the most popular winter resorts of Armenia, situated on Teghenis Mountain. It is surrounded with virginal woods and alpine meadows.
  • The ski resort Tsakhkadzor is located in the Kotayk Province. For skiing and snowboarding, there are 27 km of slopes, 6 lifts. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,966 and 2,819 m.
  • Free Time for Lunch.

Notes to See

  • Kecharis Monastery, 11th century Kecharis monastery. The monastery includes four 4 churches and ruins of the mausoleum of Grigorius Pahlavuni. Sevanavank monastery beholds a stunning depiction of Jesus Christ made by the rarest cross-stones. Return to Yerevan. 
  • En route, visit Lake Sevan, “the pearl of Armenia”, situated at an altitude of almost 2000m above sea level. It is one of Europe’s highest altitude fresh-water lakes, ringed by dramatic mountains.

Day 4: Breakfast. Free day at leisure.

Day 5: Breakfast then transfer to Zvartnots International Airport to journey back home.
